On Sunday, Socialist Francois Hollande edged out Nicolas Sarkozy in the French presidential election. The result is being called the greatest victory for a socialist since the 2008 election of United States president Barack Obama. The loss for Sarkozy marks the first time a French presidential incumbent has lost in more than 20 years, although is anyone really all that surprised he wound up being just a bit short?
