Republican presidential hopeful Tim Pawlenty took a shot at fellow candidate Michelle Bachmann yesterday, saying "her record of accomplishment in Congress is non-existent." Replied Bauchmann, "That's funny, I was just about to say the same thing about Tim Pawlentey's presidential campaign."

This month, Connecticut became the first state in the U.S. to pass a law mandating paid sick days for service workers. Advocates say the measure should provide a real boost to workers' rights should anyone actually be able to find work.

On Saturday, South Sudan officially became its own independent nation. That's right: At long last, there are two Sudans for Amerians to ignore.
